Q: Does this stuff really work?

A: Yes, it does! The Success Sleep System is grounded in physiological psychology techniques that create new patterns of behavior.

Q: How does it work? A: There is a lot of research and evidence that shows that mental imagery can make a significant improvement to one’s health.

Here’s an example that shows how the Success Sleep System can work to change patterns of behavior.

You probably drive the same way home from work every day. How many times have you planned to go somewhere else after work, but found yourself driving home instead? What happened? You “zoned out” and went on “autopilot.” You have an ingrained pattern of behavior that says “after work, we drive this way.” If you aren’t consciously thinking about it, your ingrained patterns will take over, and you will automatically keep repeating the same patterns.

The same thing happens with habits you are trying to change. You may want to lose weight, but your brain is programmed to want cookies every afternoon. In order to change that, you've got to replace that pattern with something else!

When you have an experience, the brain releases certain chemicals that create neural pathways. The more often you have the experience, the stronger the neural pathway becomes. It’s kind of like how a canyon is formed by a river running constantly through it. Unless that water is made to go a different direction, you’re going to end up with the Grand Canyon of habits!

The good news is that your mind doesn’t know the difference between a real experience or an imagined one. So, by visualizing yourself engaging in different behaviors than you usually do, you are creating new neural pathways.

My Success Sleep System works by creating new patterns in your brain when you are at your most receptive—just as you’re falling asleep. The more you do it, the stronger the path is, and the more deeply engrained your new behaviors become, and then pretty soon they are automatic!

Q: How long does it take to work?

A: The answer depends on how long you’ve had the problem. If your goal is, say, weight loss, you have had a LOT of experiences to reinforce your old, unhealthy patterns. It’s going to take longer to unprogram those beliefs. If, on the other hand, you are working on something simpler, like taking a test, it won’t take as long. We recommend that you listen to each CD for 21 days in order to see the best results. Frankly, you’ll start to feel different after one or two days, but to really get those pathways changed, you need to consistently listen to the CDs.
